Product description

The macula is the area of the retina located centrally at the back of the eyeball. This structure is responsible for the perception of central vision, the sharpest and most detailed. When the macula is damaged by a pathological process, the eye does not see the details well centrally, while it continues to perceive the peripheral parts. A maculopathy can affect only one eye or both. The most frequent form of maculopathy is age-related macular degeneration. Eurekol Macula's approach stems from nutraceutical clinical trials that have evaluated the effects of different nutrients on conditions that accompany disease progression.

Age, genetics as well as trauma and harmful external environmental stimuli are generally recognized as predisposing factors for maculopathy. For some years now, numerous scientific studies have called into question inflammatory and immunological factors related to alterations in the intestinal microbiota in various organ pathologies, including the eye.

Eurekol Macula™ provides micronutrients that are potentially useful on these metabolic processes.

Furthermore, Eurekol Macula™, thanks to the antioxidants most studied in maculopathies present in its formula, can contribute to the reduction of oxidative stress.

In order to protect the patient from the progressive retinal damage typical of maculopathy, Eurekol Macula™ also contains nutrients with neuroprotective action widely described in the literature.

Eurekol Macula™ contains Biointestil®, an innovative and patented substance, with extensive studies in the treatment of the gut microbiota. Biointestil® is an essential oil rich in Geraniol adsorbed on a natural matrix consisting of ginger fibers, rich in Gingerol. Geraniol is a molecule with numerous recognized biological activities that include a protective action on the intestinal microbiota. Gingerol also contributes to a healthy gut microbiota.

 An altered gut microbiota is known to influence the microbiota of the various body districts and, among these, also the ocular microbiota. An unbalanced gut microbiota seems to favor the development of potentially harmful factors (immunological and proinflammatory substances) in maculopathy as well as in other degenerative diseases. Biointestil® helps to regain the correct balance of the microbiota.

Biointestil represents the first example of a "eubiotic", a natural substance aimed at promoting the proper function of the intestinal microbiota.

How to use

The dosage of Eurekol Macula is one acid-resistant capsule per day, to be ingested before going to bed possibly with the help of a glass of water.

Preservation

Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Avoid exposure to localized heat sources, sunlight and contact with water. The date of minimum durability refers to the product that has been properly stored, in unopened packaging.
